Christmas Trip!

First off ... Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas !!

Usually for Christmas we hang out with our family and eat ... and eat ... and then we eat again. Since we had a little extra time before all the eating began, we decided this year to go for a little road trip. So here it is ... Bucovina by winter ... in pictures ...

Our most trusted friend in the journey ... The SILVER TANK!

Putna ... here lies the grave of Stefan cel Mare, who killed a lotta turks who kinda pissed him off...

Daniel Siihastru's crib ...

Sucevitza, home of the Romanian Ninja Nuns ... Andreea caught one in the pic here ... that's only because she's also a Ninja ...

... soon enough it was night time

Voronetz, home of the alien blue paint ... you gotta see it to believe it ...

And to end things on a more serious note, the journey had a very deep spiritual feel, driving through the snowy mountains from one monastery to another, we almost felt like pilgrims trying to find their inner spiritual balance. It was a long and tiresome day, but it was very well worth it ... it was indeed a Merry Christmas!

The next day the EATING began ...

Yuppy X-mas !!!

Well ... it's probably the last post before X-mas so I just wanted to say yupeeee because a nice vacation is coming up ... we'll be driving the Tank throughout the country through blizzard and snow mountains and fierce dragons that want to eat us ... mkay ... maybe I overdid it just a little bit. I'll post some pics with the journey and all it's perils once they're behind us.

I've also learned a very interesting thing about X-mas. I now know why everybody is all this jolly and singing in this time of the year. Because everyone is freaking out shopping and running and being quite on the edge all the time, it would be just a matter of time before everybody would start cursing and yelling all the time ... so this is why someone invented the Merry Christmas Jolly Jolly wishings. So, instead of going '%$#$#!!!' you just go 'Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas to you there, fellow!'. It's quite comforting. It was such a pleasant drive this morning. I've wished so many 'Merry X-mas'-es to so many fellow drivers ...

So there you go ... Merrrrrrrry Chriiiistmaaaaas! to you ...

Batman's Bike in Action

Well ... here it is ... I'm guessing it will be up for only a couple of minutes so to make a short summary, the Joker appears and Batman rides a motorcycle and some explosions go off ... I'm a little tiny disappointed ...

Watch it in better quality here.

James Bond Grows Beard in Parallel Universe

I am a little puzzled ... The Golden Compass failed miserably at the box-office, almost one third from Narnia's earnings and I think this movie is about three times better. And it's got that cuddly animals all around .... I wish I had a pet around all the time like that. And that iddly cuddly cute little bear ... uhm ... Ok, maybe he's not so little ... and most of the time he's not cuddly ... in fact ... he did rip that other bear's jaw off... sigh.
And on top of that it's got James Bond in it. It's even got James Bond's girlfriend in it. It's even got James Bond's other girlfriend in it ... you know, the one he fought aliens with ... I wouldn't be surprised if Nicole Kidman was the next Bond girl ...

I though James Bond was all about getting lots and lots of women ...

bored out of my facebook ...

Now here's the deal ... Things aren't quite peachy ... so I got nothing to blog about ... not a hot Indian video in sight ... not even a little poem I can come up with ... I though about posting some pics ... but, I didn't find any cool ones that I would like to share ... so I just popped some quizzes on facebook ... here's my profile if you wanna add: My public profile

... back to boredom land ...

Buttnaked Man Kills Monster Somewhere in Denmark

Well ... in case you didn't figure it out ... I saw Beowulf's butt this weekend. I must sadly admit it was one of the movie's highlights (the butt, that is). I don't even wanna start on Angelina Jolie's boobies ... It's like this was the movie's tag line:"Come see Beowulf! You'll get to see Angelina Jolie's BOOBIES!!". Kinda lame if you asked me ...

I wasn't really expecting much of it, so I can't say I was disappointed ... so I can't say the movie sucked, but I can tell you this... These CGI people start to get on my nerves ... First they ruin the Matrix with that crappy burley brawl, and now it appears as though they are planning to ruin the entire movie industry. I mean, I get it ... you can make people to appear as though they are real ... but it's just like eating a fruit made of plastic ... I marvel at the progress of technology, but this just doesn't do it for me ...

The story is not very interesting ... so I won't talk about it ...

If you wanna see fake butts and boobies, you can go see this movie ... it's not a disaster.

when the AAALIEEEENS invadeeeed!!!

Yup, I've seen another one of them alien infestation invasion movies ... and it didn't suck! I particularly enjoyed the scenes where the infested guys try to puke all over the place ... they vomit in the coffee, in the street, in the underground metro, and most of all in your face...

I imagine now a movie where aliens invade Earth by fart ...
- Do you smell something in here, Bill?
- Oh, sorry bout that ... it was me ... it's ok ...
- NO, it's not OK, fart-pants!

And putting this aside, I really don't see the point of the movie, because the Aliens were not the bad guys ... they just wanted a better life for all of us ... I simply don't understand why the humans opposed ...

I guess it was the puke thing.

Goku??

As I said earlier, I am very pumped up regarding the upcoming Dragonball Z movie. Apparently the producers haven't seen much of the DBZ manga because they chose a WIMP to play Goku ... Here are Goku and Picollo, I'll let you figure out who's the wimpy Goku. He's now in combat training with the guys responsible for Matrix ... I really hope this guy grows a set of balls before they start shooting this movie ... On the other hand, Piccolo appears to be spot=on.

Paris will never get old ...

Thake this situation, for example... I sat on my ass all weekend playing Grand Turismo 4, doing absolutely nothing worth mentioning here. But, Andreea's been to Paris and took some amazing photos, and so I get to post something on my blog. This is just a tease, and I'll keep the rest for myself.

... indeed Paris will never get old ...

Mel Gibson is Nucking Futs

Another way to read the title of this post is "OMG, I just managed to see Apocalypto! ... without throwing up ... although I almost did!". So to sum things up, I've just seen Apocalypto on DVD and OMG, I managed not to throw up ... although I did feel like it for a couple of times the entire time... This movie is the most awful piece of gore I've ever seen, and I really hope I'll never get to see anything like it ... EVER ...

All gore aside, I can say the movie was quite OK, the story is interesting and involving ... but there are just way to many explicit gory scenes to make it watchable ... bleah, I just remembered one and feel like throwing up again ...

... did I mention I believe Mel Gibson has gone cucu?

The SHOWDOWN

The Showdown is ON!

Introducing ... in the red corner ... Beeeeeeeeenny LAVAAAAA!! Benny is counting on his BIG Bollywood budget to win this one, but also on his sexy lyrics and most of all on his Michael Jackson moves !!

In the blue corner ... DUUUUUUUKE DUKE!!! Duke is counting on all you Star Trek, Star Wars and Fantastic 4 fans out there to help him win this one.

Ding ding ...

and the fight is on ... cast your vote in the poll ...

Tekken is coming ...

Now here's some interesting news ... Apparently they're making a movie adaptation for Tekken! (If by any means you're wondering what Tekken is google it now and join me in the 21st century) As I do own Tekken 4 & 5 on the PS2 I must admit I am looking forward to this, although some of us may remember the Streetfighter movie, also known among some as the 'Nightmare Disaster of Movie Making'...

Fingers corssed and hope for the best ... I wonder who'll be playing Christie ...

Indian HOT Stuff

I've been wondering for a few years now ... what's hotter ... the Pakistani or the Indian videos? I've already posted some very very hot Pakistani stuff (here)... and now here's the Indian answer ... with quite a bit more sexual innuendo.

I simply can't decide who's the winner...

Remember, remember the 5th of November...

I thought this would be a good opportunity to reveal the fact that I liked this movie very much ... it was very very nice ... I even liked it enough not to be bothered by the silly ending ...

Now... the connection here is that V did something on the 5th of November ... and it seems I may have something going on then too ... but, I'm in no way as commited to it as V was ...

... and another difference is that he didn't keep what he was going to do a secret ...

Back to School

Unfortunately there's not much going on that I can blog about ... no movies either ... so in a moment of boredom I've decided to let the Blog know that I'm going back in training ... again ... and that's about it ...

IKEA just made my weekend ...

I've been busy this weekend ....

Busy busy busy....

... and it came out nicely in the end ....

In love with my Transformer ...

You gotta love it ...

The Transformer ... I think it's an Autobot

... It was kind enough to bring me my furniture all the way home ...

... but then said I have to carry it inside ...

... so I did ... I can feel the love fading ...

It was about darn plucking time ...

I must admit I am very pumped up ... because word is they are FINALLY going to make the DragonBall Z movie ... oh yeah!! ... Well ... i guess I'm just raising eyebrows here, but this has got to be the best thing since Burce Lee fought Chuck Norris and tore the hair off his chest!

I'll post two of my favorite DBZ (that's Dragon Ball Z for all you pagans out there) moments ...

Gohan goes into SSJ mode for the first time ... yeah yeah I know I know all you people can't make out squat of that, but I'm a DBZ sucker and I have to prove it... It starts cheesy but that's part of the DBZ fun because it's part cheesy, part serious ... You just gotta love how Gohan just stays there astonished by the uncontrollable power he just summoned upon himself ... now that's cool ...

Vegeta is the favorite character of many, and I must admit I'm part of them ... The way he's standing proud and laughs in the face of danger ... although he is stupid at many times and very very selfish and even weak on several occasions ... Here he proves his true character. Confronted with the possibility that everyone he knows may get killed by Buu (the pink thingie), Veggie decides to sacrifice himself concentrating his entire energy into one big bang which he knows will kill him too ... what more can you ask? Bravery, Sacrifice ... now that's a MAN ... right?

The Island of Peace

It's time to wrap up on the USA series ... and I thought it would be very nice of me to keep some best for last , although it may not be considered as the most interesting for some ...

New York is crazy, and I already said that ... I would definitely not want to live right there in the heart of the city ... But US of A has also some other things to offer ... there's also peace and quiet, and relaxing places (gotta love that R&R), which I got to get a glimpse of ...

... why do seagulls watch the sea?

... M country is real ...

And to wrap up ... a picture of my aunt Donca, who has been nothing but the best, and Andreea, my lovie lovie :) (hearts flying around)

USA is an interesting place to see, even just because it is DIFFERENT in so many ways. A final tip if you go to NY: learn Spanish ... and take it easy with the corn syrup ...

bye bye U S of A ... see you around ...

Famous and Friendly

Don't you just love it when the famous people are nice ... ahhh ... yeah ... I met them all while I was in the US of A and they were all very friendly to me ... so here goes ...

Hugh told me another one of his lame jokes, but I laughed anyway ...

I freaked out a coupe of astronauts ...

Superman stood up between me and all those freaky Martians that were after my brain ...

And this big guy helped Andreea solve a little problem with Frankenstein ...

Riding the Chopper

If you go to New York ... you just must gotta no doubt or question about it take the chopper ride ... it was very very cool ...

Not only do you get the best view of NYC, but also the space mountain treatment ... wheeeeeeEEEEE

It was my first helicopter flight and I must say I LOVE IT!! It really did my day ...

I hope you can get your day done someday like that too ...

The road to Chinatown

The road to Chinatown leads down a dirty alley ...
who dares go there's not wise ... if only dare I say ...
nor brave ... nor well informed ... nor on his lucky day...
he's just a clumsy tourist, who's surely lost his way ...
the SMELL's the only friend, who tells him GO AWAY!

... not to mention the fact that someone may jump you for kidneys ... do not go there at night! ... I repeat, DO NOT GO THERE AT NIGHT!

maybe this is where you would've seen a pic of the scene, if only were I not too AFRAID FOR MY LIFE to even think about showing off the camera!!

thank you SMELL, next time I will listen to you ...

Artsie Fartsie

Now ... I may not be an art critic ... heck, I might even say I am not an art person ... but sometimes "art" is stupid ... and some "artists" leave me speechless confronted with the absurdity of a stupid lifeless piece of crap ... and here is a FINE example ... as seen at the Metropolitan Museum in New York ... ART ... please feel free to contemplate this so interesting so breathtaking so inspiring piece of crap I'm staring at trying to concentrate myself hard out of remembering the "artist"'s name ...

... and here is a piece of art I did like just so you don't say I'm a dorkey monkey that hasn't seen a painting in his life ... unfortunately it's blurry and cropped ... but I find it freakishly impressive ...

The Apple is big and sour

Mkay ... and here we go ... I have been postponing this post long enough ... time to get down and dirty (quite dirty actually) with New York City ...

For a long time have I had this image about New York ... a very crowded street, with people walking on both sides of the road, one big mass of people moving like one.

Well ... it's not really far from the truth ... First contact was pretty violent, as we got there on one of (arguably) the busiest days of the year (Labor Day weekend), there were just SO MANY people walking around Times Square ... it was crazy ...

What hit me was the fact that the metro rail was quite dirty, in no way comparable to Washington, or Paris. The dirtiness seemed to continue, as the streets were in no way squeaky clean ...

The city is best seen from the distance, with a quite impressive skyline ...

... the view from the top of Empire State Building is a must see ...

... but the Brooklyn Bridge view is not all that bad also and is another must ... the picture doesn't really do it justice ...

Apart from this, we've seen lady Liberty and it was nice ... Metropolitan Museum, Museum of Natural History, Madame Tussaud's ... and so on and so forth ... we'll get to those later ...

Oh yes, and if you get to NY, make sure you take the night tour ... it was tons of fun and I really hope you are lucky enough to have the same guide we had ...

And now for what I believe is the single biggest problem with NY ... the people ... The place is crowded by immigrants .. I mean, I have no problem with them, but, common, learn a little English, will you? It's not really normal to (try to) order a darn coffee milk shake (or whatever it was) and end up by pointing fingers in the menu ... Or the fact that people were speaking to you IN SPANISH and didn't get bothered by the fact that you were looking at them with a very puzzled face ... I guess the guide on the night tour said it best ... this is a place where you need to learn to tolerate a lot, because there are so many cultures that come together here ... and you should try to tolerate all of them, because they will hit you in the face at every corner... (the last part is added by myself)

And to conclude, here is the list of DON'Ts:
1. Don't go to chinatown at night (post to follow)
2. Don't go to Harlen
3. Don't eat anywhere else except Italian restaurants
4. Don't forget to know how to speak Spanish.
5. Don't even think you can see two museums on the same day (they're huge).
6. Don't even think about taking the ferry to Lady Liberty later than 10 A.M. (we didn't and you should take our example).

So to sum things up .... go see it ... take a bite ... I found it to be a little sour...

iLove

I'm not really the gadget man, but, still, I was pretty excited when I saw a lot of iPhones available to play with at the Mac store. We went inside, grabbed a couple of those suckers and started pressing away. I gotta say it was "love at first touch" or iLove as I like to call it. The interface is just so responsive and easy to use ... I simply gotta get me one of these ... No word yet on when this baby will come here ... I'm curios to see if it will be cheap enough to make me buy it :P...

The Tale of the HUMONGOUS Milkshake

by Me

There were once three men,
and they were three.
And while home in their land,
often would they zip
nor from coffee, nor from tea.
But from a milkshake would they zip,
the milkshake would be gone real quick.

But then, one day, the three men went
across the ocean to a land ...
The men would want, of course, to zip,
but used to milkshakes that go quick,
they without knowing made mistake ...
ONE GIANT milkshake they would take!

The first man took a zip then four,
Then took until he could no more,
He gave the milkshake to the next,
Take IT, my brother, I must rest ...

The second man zipped all he could,
Then he took more till he was full,
He gave the milkshake to the next,
Take IT, my brother, I must rest ...

The third, surprised he still had some
Thought he would zip till nausea come,
He made it there, there was no next,
Milkshake had won, he had to rest ...

... there is a lesson there ... if you go to the USA and want to buy a milkshake at McDonalds, buy MEDIUM ... the BIG one is freaking HUMONGOUS

George DoubleU's house is white

The pic is actually taken in New York... But, in case you didn't know, that's George doubleU. .... and now here is his big white house ...

I know, I know, it's fuzzy, small, and you can't see squat, but I'm afraid that that's the way it is ... if you look closely you'll see Georgie boy in his jammies at the window ... nice fellow ... he invited us for a cup of tea ... but it was late ... and I don't really enjoy all his blabbering ...

Streets of Philadelphia

...........

Na na nana nana,
Na na nana naNA,
Na na nana nana,
Na na nana NAna
...

not much to say here ... Here lies the first department store which used price tags! ... Riiiiight ....

A nice city, not as clean as Boston, not as wild as New York ... The planetarium sure sucked. The idea is that you have to look UPWARDS! The chairs were in full vertical position and with a big headrest, so that you were actually looking downwards ...

There was ONE interesting thing there: The Rodin Museum. Surprising, even. They also have another BIG museum that we didn't get to visit. And the monster building that's not yet finished looked nice.

Oh, yeah, and we went inside THE BIG HEART ... it was sooooo not interesting ....

Oh, yeah, and the Liberty Bell is around there somewhere...

Been there, done that, on to Washington and George doubleU's big house...

L.E.: It looks like them streets of Philadelphia are getting fixed ...
