Last night we went to see The Artist, and I must admit I was completely blown away by it. This very fine piece of art exceeded my expectations in every way and punches a big hard fist right in the face of all "talkies" that drove the silent film to its demise.
Now that the novelty of talking movies is gone, could silent movies make an incredible comeback? Probably not, as The Artist is not so good only because it is silent. But still, I really hope that there will be more attempts at it ... and possibly more accomplishments like The Artist. Loved it!
